And to answer the two answers I got so far, I dont like regular sprite zero. I am drinking what is available at my office and there is no regular sprite, or else I would drink that. I realize how dumb that sounded at first..I was just looking for a way to make sprite zero taste better, and was just wondering why it fizzed so much.

  1. Because the pores of the sugar crystals attracts the carbonation in the soda, when the bubbles get too large on the sugar crystal, they release and fizz.  The fizzing will continue until either the sugar is dissolved, or until the carbonations is low (flat soda)  Have you ever heard of the mentos and diet coke experiment on myth busters? The mentos have a rough texture and attract the carbonation...same thing.

Check out the video, its pretty cool!

  2. Adding sugar kind of defeats the purpose of Sprite Zero.  Why not just buy regular sprite? And in answer to your question, I don't know.

  3. um... why would you put sugar in it??
