Things like:

What do you think of the London segment of the closing ceremony?

How do you think 'Team GB' did in this Olympics?

Do you think GB will put on a good Olympics?

Etc. etc.

Barely mentions BeBeijingerformance in hosting the Olympics this year as she seems too busy trying to seek approval on GB's performance and 2012 efforts.

It's cringing.

  1. because it's for a british program. the other countries presenters will be talking about their country.

  2. Erm, because she's British and working for the BBC?

  3. She is a patriot.....shame your not.

  4. I'm just glad MJ is there, because he talks good sense. I have sensed a little tension between Barker and MJ this time. He likes to call a spade a spade, whereas she likes to throw a bucket of gloss paint over everything. It's all got to be nicet pie for her, no controversy. She personalises everything, like 'Henman Hill' and 'our Tim'. Yes, cringe making. So I am not surprised that MJ looks a little bemused sometime. Colin Jackson is also a very compliant BBC type. Afraid to speak his mind.

She may be employed by the BBC, but so what? she needs to stop being so partisan. People would respect a little more honesty.

Not only was there very little talk of the excellant job the Chinese did, they did a lot of nit picking eg. the girl miming the song, and the use of digital interfaces. So what?

  5. MJ is presenting for the BBC therefore will have to talk about all things GB

  6. Another has been who seems to get dragged out of the cupboard on a regular basis to pontificate and bore us !

  7. Well the London party outside Buck House is worth watching, which is more than can be said about that lack lustre performance by the British contingent at the closing ceremony!

  8. I want to know why Michael Johnson was with the British team anyway.

  9. It IS the BRITISH Broadcasting Company.

  10. I am guessing that she was told by her bosses what to say, and from what angle to approach the subject.

Regardless of this, I wouldn't say no.
