Why does Suzuki Samurai slow down on hills?

  1. If it doesn't need a tune up, then it's mainly a power and final gear ratio issue. The later models were a little better, but there just isn't a lot of power for them going up hills. The Samurai isn't the only older 4 cylinder vehicle that has problems on hilss. The elevation where you live can also be a factor even if your vehicle is running perfect.
