Why does Taio Cruz rap with an American accent?

I like his songs and his singing voice...but it really annoys me when he does little raps in his songs and puts on this fake american accent lol...it would sound so much better if he kept his normal accent! There are plenty of british rappers who keep their accent...

Anyone know why, or agree? lol

 He sounds American even when he like "talks" in his songs! He seems perfectly american to meh.

I reckon he does the American accent to make himself more marketable since British rappers aren't really acknowledged most of the time. I'm from Holland and a fan of British rappers such as Pro Green and Example but they don't reach the charts over here. Taio on the other hand has been in the charts for 9 weeks and is still number 6.
