Why does US worry so much about Mugabe becoming a dictator in Zimbabwe?

There are a number of countries in the world where authoritarian rulers 've been in charge for many years.

For example, President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, have been in power for 14 years.

  1. Because the world generally looks to the U.S. to bring order and humanity to its darkest corners...and we aren't as rich and powerful as we used to be.


  2. Oh he's not becoming a dictator, he's been one for several years. This latest "election" marks the beginning of Mugabe's sixth term.

  3. Because many Human-Rights activist have spoken up against him and drawn attention to the situation (as they should), and since there was an election in Zimbabwe, it was an opportunity to remove him, so it has become a point of interest.
