VVS Laxman has always played very, very special innings against Australia, at a quick pace too. This has been happening right from the first series he played against them to the latest.

How does he do so well against Australia but cannot carry this on consistently against other teams?

  1. I feel that it is just co-incidence. May be luck favours him more when hen plays against Australia.

  2. Laxman likes the Australian conditions. He likes the pitches, they really suit him. But remember  Laxman's best innings was played on Eden Gardens.

  3. i dont know why he does, but i admit i'm glad he does save his best for playing us, i have always enjoyed watching him bat, i could (and whenever hes out here i actually do) watch him bat for hours, very very underrated cricketer

  4. He enjoys Aussies bowling that is the reason other reason is that bowl does not swing in Australia comparing to SA, NZ or England where he barely score runs

  5. i think he gets under great strenght when he plays against Australia ..... may be he also shows that  India rocks  ...........     CHAK  DE  INDIA.

  6. He enjoys cricket and play without pressure. He enjoys cricket against aussies .

  7. yes its wonderful he perform good against Australia..~

  8. Laxman is a touch artist, whose strength is his timing and wrist power. He enjoys the ball coming onto the bat, to use  the power of the bowler to his advantage. in Australia, where the pitches are fast and bouncy (he also uses his height well), he thrives on the ball hitting the bat hard enough for him to work his magic.

In other countries, as someone said, the ball either swings too much or the bowlers are not fast enough. However, he uses his feet well enough against the spinners too.

As another answerer said, he is extremely underrated, which is why whenever I answer Qs about the Indian batting lineup, I refer to the big 4 and not the big 3, thus putting him on par with the other 3.

Also, he is so good against the Aussies and so pleasing on the eye that he should be selected only against the Aussies, even if he is out of form in domestic cricket. only hope it doesn't cause him bitterness!!!

Good question about one more of my favourites.
