Like all cities in each language you have a different name. as the asnwerers above me have said Venedig is the German name for Venezia

Evey country has it's own way of calling / naming a foreign country and "vendig" is what the Germans call Venice. The Italians call Germany "Germania" and the Germans "Tedeschi".
