Why does Windows Vista mis-identify my wireless networks?

I am using Windows Vista x64 sp1. I have two wireless networks to which I often connect. Therefore, I have network profiles set up for each of them. However, Vista often displays that it is connected to one network when in actuality it is connected to the other. Why does this happen, and how can I fix it?

  1. The best solution would be to change the "automatic" connection of one of them to "manual". This way, only the preferred network would connect.

    Good luck!
