Why does Windows Xp freeze On Starup?

I am running Windows Xp Professional. windows will boot fine in safe mode. But when trying to get it to go into regular mode, It Freezes on a screen that says "PLEASE WAIT Loading yorur Personal Settings....." What do I need to do to fix this error?

Boot in to Safe Mode.

goto start run Msconfig

Turn off everything for boot

Restart

If computer starts turn Programs back on 1 item at a time until problem starts again.  This is how you narrow down what program is causing your boot failure.

Reboot in safe mode and do restore the early before you encountered the problem.
