Why does Yahoo Customer Service NOT permit the phone calls with their agents to be recorded by the consumer?

Over the past year, I purchased 160+ songs from MusicMatch and Yahoo Music. These were purchased from MM, and then using a Yahoo account that I retired less than 90 days ago. I was forced to reinstall Windows XP on my computer the other day, music files still intact.

I am now unable to listen to, or relicense the 160+ tracks that I purchased from MusicMatch or Yahoo. I contacted Yahoo Music customer service via their phone number which is (866)562-7228.

Yahoo customer service said I was required to reinstate my old account in order to access the previously purchased licenses. This was not an sufficient solution, and almost seems illegal to require. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and began recording the call. When I informed the supervisor that the call was being recorded, they hung up on me.

I am investigating whether or not to file a class action lawsuit in this matter. Please respond if you are interested in participating.
