Google Groups allows you to subscribe a custom email address to your mailing list so that the messages from your existing mailing list will reach your Google Group. The email looks like this: example-garchive-99001@googlegroups.com but Yahoo groups will not allow you to use it as an email - why?

 1. Google Groups and Yahoo Groups have their own way of doing things. The process that Google is using is much too complex to discuss in an answer on YA. If you want to ask a real live Yahoo Staff member exactly why it's not allowed, you can use the Yahoo Mail Help Form. Here is the link to it: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya...

 2. Yahoo groups restricts certain email addresses from joining Yahoo Groups. You can't have another group (yahoogroup or googlegroup, etc) as a member of a Yahoo Group. Other emails like webmaster or admin are also not allowed. Only personal email addresses are allowed to be members.
