Why does Yahoo deduct 5 points for asking a question?

This doesn't make sense to me at all... anyone have an answer to this one?

  3. It makes it more interesting, don't you think? What would it be like if you just keep on receiving points? You would get bored at some stage.

  5. Its standard policy its so you dont ask questions all the time it effects everyone

  6. I think there are two reasons for it.

    One:  To encourage people to answer questions and not just ask.

    Two: To discourage people from asking "stupid" questions or just typing random things as a question.

    Also...  If you choose a best answer for that question, you get I think 3 points back.

    You'd only have to answer someone else's question once to be back up to your normal number of points.

  7. so kids cant do all there home work based on yahoo answers.
