Im looking into buying a new vehicle and ive found to like the Nissan Altima. I went to dealers and since im only 18 im not looking into spending alot of money so when i test drove a 06' for 16,000> i wanted to look around for a deal. Ive been searching Craigslist and came upon a 2005 Nissan Altima for $7000 !?! I Dont know if i should be excited or what? It looks like a great deal. There was no mention on the ad of Miles but im wondering even if it was high, would it be worth it? If you could tell me anything about Nissans, good or bad, anything that would help me in my car shopping it would be grrreeaaat!

Heres the link to the ad:

  1. There is no mention as to the number of miles for one thing,  It is also a stick shift.  Go to this site to get the going price for your car in your area  www.kbb.com

  2. This  is to good to be true, but this is a great deal ! check the mileage.

  3. nissan is a good car company. so even if the miles were high the price still would be the same...maybe a salvage title? or a theft title

  4. You do understand this is not regular Altima. Its my favorite altima of them all the Altima SE-R. The SE-R is the performance enhanced version the normal altima. Its more aggressive stance, sport rims, tuned engine, free flowing exhaust, sport suspension, sport seats and lots of other nice stuff. These brand new cost around 30k, but now used they should be anywhere from 15-23k. They are pretty rare too, I have only seen a handful in Miami. 7k does sound like salvage. Get a PPI done on it. Good luck on the buy.

  5. You could get a CarFax report on it, then have it checked out by a mechanic of your choice (the person selling it).  It could be an individual seller who just needs to get rid of the car.  Whatever you do, don't sign a contract to buy the car until you are sure there are no problems with the title or mechanical condition.

  6. WATCH OUT!! It's a scam, I found the exact same add with the same pictures. in West Palm Beach.

Thay do this a lot on craigslist. When you email them they reply that they are out of the country and will have to use a 3rd party payment method.

Notice how they don't give a phone number and will not answer any spacific questiond, becauce they email back to many people from many places they put the add in at the same time.  You can search adds like this by cutting and pasting the heading, with out the location, and putting "craigslist" aftewr it and search it on yahoo, or google

  7. Well....I would get the vin for it. and have it car faxed, Also Talk to the guy see if it has anything wrong to it....How Many Miles ever Hit?  Salvage title All Of The Above...But Somtimes. People are upside down cant aford the payment and They Just wanna sell it so they can get it paid off even if it's worth more. then what they're selling it for. So Contact the guy get it checked out. see what's up for it...Also to the guy that said it's not a SE-R With Gass Prices Today...People look to buy 4 cyls. So they can jack the prices up now and days.

  8. maybe it's salvaged...
