  1. I believe this question/thought is flawed.  I am a strong believer in my Creator, but do not consider myself religious (in the sense of ritualistic behavior).  In fact, history bears out the faith and ritualistic are often at odds/extremes from each other.

If a Creationist allows themself to be pigeon-holed as religious, then they allow non-believers the potential opportunity to deny Creationism as non-scientific. Since a believer has the faith that our Creator is the origin of all things, accepting the principle that science and belief (not religion) are separate is impossible. The immutable laws of science are put in motion by our all-knowing Creator.

The believer says, believing it, I see it.

Short of faith, one is confined to - I must see it to believe it.  This is putting life in a very small box. Quite opposite to the unlimited, unbounded universe in which we live.

  2. They have to believe in the Creator. But that's not necessarily religious. You can be a member of a religion with out being particularly religious your self. Even Jesus was not very religious, not like the other Jewish people of those times.

  3. Both believe without reason.

  4. I suppose that you can say "supernaturalist" if you prefer.  The evidence for evolution have been accumulating for nearly 150 years.  As science, postulate natural cause for natural occurrences, since natural causes and effects are all we can observe and analyze.

Creationism says that some entity produced life as we see it through some process that science cannot see test for, or analyze.   Most people who would recognize such an entity would worship that entity, or worship some other entity in competition with the entity nominated as the "Creator".

  5. Creationism is specifially a Protestant Christian doctrine based solely on an interpretation of the Christian Bible.

Since it is based on a Biblical interpretation of creation, not a scientific one, it is by definition a religious belief, and one promoted by a relatively small portion of Christian fundamentalists, but not by all religions or even by all Christians.

  6. Creationism is tied to religion threre's  no way out of it. It's based on biblical writings and teachings, faith and belief. The degree of religiosity varies for everyone no matter what they believe.  don't think someone who rejects creationism and sees evolution as a good theory is necessarily non religious. See: http://www.creationism.org/. or tune into Ali G's segment on science for a laugh...

  7. Actually, I do not believe a Creationist has to be religious at all. You can believe in a creator without even going to church at all.

  8. They have to believe in whatever did the creating, but they don't need to believe that you have to do anything about it.  After all, most creationists are Calvinists.

  9. What you're talking about is an accidental Creation.

    That falls under Science!

  10. It's good for the bank account.

  11. cuz its in the Bible

  12. if you beleive god created the earth then you beleive in god - that to some is considered religious.

others would say to be religious is to attend a place of worship and pray etc.

  13. He doesn't, but, if he tries to make out such obvious nonsense is true on his own, he's either insane or a liar. Lies and insanity magically become truth and wisdom under the auspice of Religion.
