  1. yes they can. they dont need to get legally separated first.

  2. You don't have to file for separation...just for a divorce. I guess when people don't divorce, but are still married, their new civil status is separated.

    I always saw this as:

    1)hope for reunification

2)too lazy for a divorce/doesn't believe in marriage with a new partner

    3) Money reasons, such as child support or dividing earnings and property problems.

Either way just go for the divorce if that's what you want.

  3. Yes they can,but for some couple they need to calm down before taking a big step. They love each other but they can't agree on things to make their life easier.

  4. Yes, it can be skipped but the separation is supposed to be that "cooling off" period. Divorce is finasl, but separation allows for somne lee-way.

  5. its better when its officially recognized

  6. I was told that separation does not usually lead to divorce. It's considered a trial, a period when both can try to save their marriage in whatever way possible. Plunging head first to divorce may be regretted.

  7. in the state i live, you can not skip the seperation process unless there is abuse going on, or infidelity. The seperation period is to give the couple time to try to work things out, nothing is final until you're dead, and even then i'm sure God negotiates.

To me it's funny, we make people wait for divorce for a year (max of 3 if one spouse refuses to sign papers), yet we only make people wait like 3 days before they get married..... Seems kind of weird to me.....

  8. TO LET YOU SEE HOW IT WOULD FEEL LIKE IF YOU WERENT WTH HIM I GUESS. TO SEE IF THAT IS WHAT YOU REALY WANT IDK

  9. It most likely would still take 6 months for it to be official. but then the lawyers would miss out on all your money from all the settlement comferrences every 2 months where the lawyer stands there and says nothing has been settled and we need more time to take more money from our clients, so the judge says ok come back in 2 months and as you leave the lawyers and the judge smile because they know they just took you for another 1500 bucks, like mine did every 2 months for 2 years.

  10. yea

  11. It depends in which state they are filing for divorce.

  12. most people can think with clear head when they are away from each other for a while. thats why most countries require and suggest a period of seperation for couples who don't get along well. but you can also just file for divorce and skip the seperation.

  13. to make sure they actually want the divorce
