Recently I've started drinking about 5 cups of tea a day and found that it stops me from feeling hungry! why is this? Is tea high in calories or something? Now, I'm never hungry, all I need is a cup of tea and that's enough.

  1. maybe its the milk

  2. Hi I think it will be the milk filling you up as its quite thick, I find it fills me up also but not for long lol

  3. 60% of the time you feel hungry your actually just thirsty

  4. really! i wish that worked for me

  5. your stomachets feds up and u dodon'tell the emthiness in there...its just tike wather...

  6. Often we are not hungry but thirsty, drinking water can fill you up, but its not healthy to drink tea only. Sometimes tea can fill you up as it is fluid, with sugar, milk or even on its own. Your stomach will be busy digesting the contents of your drink. Tea has some calories but not many, and just drinking tea is not enough for your metabolism or calorie intake. The human body can survive a maximum of 3 days without food, but after this you can become anaemic. You need to eat.

  7. Because you were not hungry, you were thirsty.....doh!

  8. Because  the  power  of antioxidants and  the lower  cholesterol  can be  found  in  a  cup of  tea  that's why stop you from  feeling  hungry

  9. hahaha because it doesn't.

  10. Your stomach believes that the weight of the tea, approx 6 ounces, is food. The tea also takes up stomach space so fooling it. Water would have the same effect.

  11. Within present-day Western society people, in general, don't drink enough and our bodies now often mistake thirst for 'hunger pangs'.  By drinking that much tea each day, you're not experiencing those feelings of hunger and although there's no calorific value to a cup of black tea, the addition of milk and/or sugar will, or course, provide some calories. You say you don't experience hunger at all, but I hope that doesn't mean you're not eating?!  To stay fit and healthy we need to maintain a balanced intake of essential nutrients and these will not be provided by limiting oneself to drinking tea!
