  1. I am guessing you are flying Continental?

Airlines use what is called a hub and spoke system. Bring as many passengers as possible to one location, then send them back out from there. In theory, It is a more financially viable process for the airlines.

  2. Because some airlines only connect to certain airports. The airline you're looking at may only connect to Houston. A lot of airlines connect there going that far...

  3. THEY HAVE TO STOP FOR OTHER LOCAL

    AND GAS ALSO

  4. Airlines use a 'hub' system.   Houston is one of the 'hubs'

What that means is that connecting flights go to Houston - and the big planes fly long distance from there.    Otherwise, they would have to fill up a full plane (going to Ecuador) in each little city....Miami, Nashville, Phoenix, etc, etc....which would be pretty hard to do.

I believe Continental uses Houston as a major Hub.....maybe others too.

  5. because you had to skimp out and buy the cheap tickets, duh

  6. Could be refuling.. could be efficiancy

e.g making multiple stops to pick up passangers.

Maybe checks on the aircraft to make sure there are no faults.

I'm not 100% but I'm guessing it's something along those lines..

  7. some airports aren't directly linked by the airlines. It often depends on what airlines you're flying and what airports they have flights to and from the locations you're coming/going from

  8. Why do you think?

Most people flying from exuador will be wanting to go to Houston, it has a huge hispanic population.

I doubt the same plane even continues on, you probabley have a connecting flight.

why ask such a stupid question?
