Why does a girl's breath smell like peanut butter when she's on her period?

I have observed this on two separate occasions Once when I was in elementary school, and when I was a freshman in college. The girl's breath smelled like peanut butter and I overheard her saying that she was on her period. What kind of hormone would cause that ??

You may not be crazy, just overlyobservant and sensitive to your surroundings.  Do you have a girlfriend?  Try smelling her breath when she's surfing the crimson wave.  If not, wait until you get a girlfriend.  It's worth a try.  Make sure she doesn't eat any nuts or peanut butter a week before.  But I bet you those girls had peanut butter.  It's an interesting question, though.  Sorry I couldn't help you more!

Uhm it's a known fact that those two girls ate pb & j sandwiches!  Answer-huh?  2 girls do not a study make.

I doubt their pb breath had anything to do with their "friend."
