Question:

Why does a jet ski squirt water out the back?? LOL! This is killing me!?

I wonder if its for buoyancy reasons or just for look. Does it help with balance? Trust me, I aint getting my big booty on one anytime soon, I just see them and wonder....HELP! LOL! Settle this so I can sit and eat a peaceful dinner without JetSkis on my brain! LOL!!

  1. I believe only the Yamaha jet skis have that.  Your right though, it does look silly.  I first thought it was part of the engine cooling system (like on big outboards) but its not.  Its just a plastic part that diverts water straight up in the air for nothing but looks, and it looks stupid if you ask me.  I've also heard it was for improving visibility when riding in the surf (a jet ski is hard to spot if it's in the trough of a wave) but I can't imaging spotting a squirt of water in the air if you can't see the jet ski.  Every time I see one, it makes me wanna go pee, Ha Ha Ha!  It reminds me of Bub Rub's whistle tip, whoo whoo!

If you mean the "rooster tail" spout that come staight up the back end of the Yamaha jet skis, they are called "visibility spouts" and are there to help increase the visibility of the jetski to other boaters.  The idea is that the ski will be easier to spot, thereby lessening the chance of a collision.  Most people find it annoying more than anything.
