Wether it be a Ducati's monsterous thunder, A Harley's loud crackle, an Inline's high pitched scream, a V4's bark, or a triples spine tingling song, or even just gear-driven cams : when you put an exhaust or velocity stacks on your bike to make it louder, why (scientific answer plz) does it make you smile and all giddy? I could only link it to satisfying the ego or soul...which is most likely incorrect.

List your favorite sounding bike....mine being a Triumph Daytona 675 with Jardine or Ixil pipes.

  1. I didn't know they were smiling?

I thought they were "cringing", like when you drink a glass of lemonade with a strong bite.

My favorite sounding pipe, is any stock expansion chamber on a 2 stroke.

  2. Ever watch a bombing run in person? Loud noises are primal and basic, you either like it or you don't

  3. Kisses make me smile :D

  4. personally i'm not a fan of loud pipes, my pipes are slightly louder than stock, but that's for increased performance....if i could get that same performance with dead quiet pipes, I'd do it...

the only engine sound that should be loud is a 4bbl (or fuelie) v-8

  5. any loud noise sets off a fight or flight reaction in humans...adrenalin is realeased into bloodstream  causing exicitement......smiling is up to the person...i grimace with anoyance sometimes when a HD without mufflers goes by...same for f**t can imports

  6. I smile when I enjoy something.

Usually, the enjoyment is also linked to other enjoyable past events.

I don't have a favorite sounding bike, although I have always liked big, slow revving motors. My least favorite is a very small displacement high revving two-stroke. If I want to hear a chainsaw, I cut wood.

My favorite sounding engine was a 1953 Ford fire engine I used to drive.

    Straight 8 and dual glasspacks!

  7. 127" shovelhead with shorty pipes, no baffles and a velocity stack is the coolest sounding bike

coolest sounding car would be a toss up between an old chrysler 440 6pack at low rpm revs for pure noise or a modern ferarri v12 at 9000 rpm loaded

  8. Loud noise normally meant danger to our ancestors, when you are the loud noise, you have the power.

  9. The  vibration  resonates in the spine, in what some folks call Chakras.  The lower chakras are supposed to be connected by muscle and nerve to the pubic area, this is why the best love songs are played low on the scale and why no-account bass players get hot chicks. It's these vibrations that actually tickles female Harley fans, rather than  the more obvious ones.

The best sound I heard was glass packs on a Honda Valkyrie.  It made my nipples hard enough to cut glass.

  10. vroom vroom
