  1. A man climbs a mountain to satisfy his EGO !!! Got what I mean???

  2. Dont know where it comes from, and it is a rhetorical question....The meaning being "Why does anyone do anything?" Or, "Everybody does weird stuff sometimes" Or things of that nature...I think it can be used in somewhat different contexts.

  3. One of the most common answers to this question is:

    "Because it's there".

This means that a person sees the mountain and looks at it as an adventure; a goal of sorts. Why wouldn't man explore it? This is what humans have done for centuries is explore the world around them.

  4. I think it's one of those questions that doesn't have an answer, used to illustrate that someone has just asked a question that has no answer.

One answer to the question was in the lyrics to a song by Steppenwolf, I think the song was called "Twisted", and the lyric went something like:

"Climbing up Mount Everest; to get away from all the noise"
