Iphone won't let a new window open when I click on a headline in my yahoo. It says it is a pop-up and too many pages are already open.

  1. I'm very annoyed too.  I've used MyYahoo! as my homepage for many years.

I first became annoyed when I no longer had the option of using the old MyYahoo! and was forced to use the new one.  I had tried the new beta version several times and I always went back to the old one because I was so dissatisfied with the new one.  Now Yahoo gives me no choice. I have to use the new one.

Secondly, I became annoyed when all the links started opening up in a new window.  This causes a great inconvenience for me.  Yahoo! is taking away my options as a user.  If I wanted to open links in a new window, I would do it.  They should at least give the option to have this feature or not.

After many years, I have started another homepage on iGoogle.  I'd go back to Yahoo if they would show more respect for the user instead of forcing things on him/her.

  2. I'm working on reporting this to the proper Yahoo! authorities.  (I work for Y!, but different department.)  Hopefully, they'll pipe up and offer a response soon.

  3. I don't have the answer, but I want to know the same thing. Very inconvenient; this just started happening today, August 11th. I have to enlarge the new screen to read it, then close it back up.

    YAHOO----please correct this!

  4. Yes I too am annoyed by this as well!  just started doing it.  At first I thought it was my system and wasted a lot of time trying to fix it.  I don't know how to contact Yahoo with a complaint.  I am considering looking for a new home page.

  5. I too was frustrated by this issue and I assumed it was another "feature" of the new interface (which I am not a fan of).

I submitted a help request about this and to Yahoo's credit, I got the following response in about 12 hours:

Thank you for writing to My Yahoo!.

I understand that you would like links to open in the same browser window or in the My Yahoo! Reader.

We recently had to make this change due to some security issues with third party feeds. We hope to have this issue resolved soon and return the functionality you're used to. Until then we appreciate your patience.

If you have any further questions or concerns please contact us again.

Thank you again for contacting My Yahoo!.

    Regards,

    Kalis
