Why does a new window pop up in the new My Yahoo!?

In the new beta My Yahoo!, I try to check my mail and when I click on a message in the drop down box, a new window is brought up. I just want it to be in the same window as the one I'm in. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

    Hello

    On the "General" tab find "Tabs" and click "Settings". In the area "Open links from other programs in", select "A new tab in the current window", click OK when you're done.
