  1. it makes steam to make it straight and yea you can do it without but it won't work as well

  2. It prevents the clothes from burning up while ironing

  3. To know if the iron is really hot enough for ironing and a safeguard for your mischevous acts with iron.

  4. It moistens the shirt to stay ironed and straight.

  5. Hi

One sprinkles water on clothes in order to remove the creases from the washed clothes and to have a nice effect of smoothness on the cllothes.

Usually sprinkling is done only on cotton clothes.

I hope that is a satisfactory answer.

  6. The true reason for that is because steam irons wern't sold back when it started. You sprinkled water,or water with liquid starch mix on the clothes to create steam. That would make it easier to get the wrikles out. People do it today because that is how they saw Mom do it.

  7. Before there was steam irons there was .....sprinkling. Many still use this method because it produces a high volume of steam. When the sprinkled water is heated it produces steam. Steam is the best method of getting wrinkles out of clothing. Some fibers such as linen are best ironed , damp, for the best results. Natural fibers , cotton, linen, wool when ironed get the best results with steam.

I was raised to sprinkle ... still sprinkle , even though I have a steam iron. Putting the water on the fabric and not in the iron also cuts down on the scale build up ( mineral deposits) in the iron.

Try it you may be a "sprinkler"!!

  8. he does like that so that even if the cloth gets too hot, the water cools it. it also makes the cloth smoother.

  9. It softens the wrinkles and produces some steam.

  10. The water helps get out the really big wrinkles , hope that helps.

  11. It's because it needs to be wet in order for it to actually make the clothes flat. It is somewhat like when a woman blow dries her hair straight, it needs to be wet before and if she does start when it is dry it will be one big frizz ball.

  12. it helps remove unslightly creases that dry ironing cant remove especially if you havent got a powerful steam iron which does a excellent job without the sprinkling.

  13. steam and water react with each other well

so therefore the steam vaporates the water, and your cloth is mmore soft and pressed in a professionally way
