  1. The only difference in weight is the paper the roll is wrapped in. Otherwise they weigh the same.

  2. Because the weight is more concentrated when it's compacted in a roll. To hold 50 pennies, you'll probably have to use both of your hands, giving to the illusion that the roll weighs more.

  3. Because it includes the weight of the wrapper.

To one answerer:  how could packing them tighter possibly make them heavier?  That's like saying, "My luggage weighs 60 pounds.  I wonder if I roll it up real tight I can get it down to 50 pounds?"

Doesn't work that way, does it?

    Edward's a lucky guy, anyway.

  4. Because of the paper, or it might be because they are all tightly packed together, so it makes a greater weight, or mass

  5. The United States cent (also known as a penny) weighs 2.5 grams.  Therefore, fifty of them weigh 125 g.

If you put them in a roll, they weigh 125 g, plus the weight of the roll (which is probably less than 1 g).
