Why does a trade that has nothing to do with the Lakers, suddenly include the Lakers?

The whole Artest to the Laker ethos had been driven by fans and the media, starting the moment Kobe & company walked off the court in Boston, but the reality was the Lakers never had any intention of moving Odom to the Kings.

well if they had yao they would have beat the jazz and gone on to play the lakers...

its and obvios laker win.

but if they had artest he would guard Kobe....

And possibly shut him down. they would be sort of like the celtics and then the rest of the laker team would have to step up
