Butterflies in the tummy and hearts skipping beats? That doesn't sound healthy, why has that become the description of love?

  1. Immaturity

  2. Since the youth's mind is filled with ideals, rather than concrete ideas, he makes of them the very basis of love;, and those ideals are unrelated to reality and to the reality of the person 'loved'', so when ideals clash with reality, either one accepts the reality, which is impossibe to do for one in love, or one lives on in the dream, which is what one normally does - and both are unhealthy.

  3. Love puts one in that state

of mind.  You feel out of

    sorts, control, sometimes.

    It can make you feel

    unhealthy.

  4. I dont think its unhealthy, yea it may sound as if it is. But Its just the adrenaline you get..

  5. It is not love it is hormonal, chemical, physical attraction.  Love is when you have built a relationship and sustained it over time and love the person you are with unconditionally. It is healthy to feel the way you feel - it's your hormones kicking in.  I am 29 and married and remember those feelings - often married people say one  of the downsides of a long relationship is losing the butterflies etc but it is worth it because the upside is so much better and there are still times when you get butterflies and heart skipping a beat when you have been with someone for a long time but real love is not what you are describing here.

  6. you really store questions away?

  7. these veiws or phrases to say have been around for eons.it never leaves you.even when you get old these feelings haunt you one way or another.

  8. Because a young persons view on love is very idealistic...like knights on white horses and so on.....

It's just very naive, unrealistic and rose tinted-can't elaborate any more on it.

  9. Everybody has a different expression of love as they see or feel it. And most don't know how to describe it. With that in mind, most descriptions sound lame. Coming from the young or old.

  10. Your heart can skip at any age (not just before a heart attack either). Neither is an unhealthy view on love restricted to young people.  Many older people never learn a healthy view on love.

I would say that butterflies, heart skipping, face twitching, back of the knee shaking is not unhealthy, but natural, and all the embarrasment should be taken in good spirit and without self judging, because we're just human..

The unhealthy part, especialy among young people, is the belief that they 'MUST' be with a particular person or that they CANNOT STAND the end off a relationship or that there is one special soul mate for them in the whole world or if they are rejected, jilted that this is evidence they are unlovable and will never experience love or happiness again.  These are all unhealthy views that set people up to experience extremely painful emotions.

A healthy view is to realise the opposite and experience natural sad emotions when negative events happen, but temper them with the truth.

Enjoy your love life and all the emotions that go with it.

  11. When we are nervous we get butterflies in our tummies so it relates back to the worries and anticipation of that 1st date.

  12. When those sayings were coined, they had different linguistic associations to the meanings.

  13. Yeah, "Puppy love" that sounds so wrong.

  14. Young people sayin it is ok.. it just sounds weird when my divorced 59 year old friend has begun using that phrase ever since he met this 24 year old girl.

i think he's having gas problems, but whatever.

  15. cos thats what it feels like

if you described it as stick insects in your feet people would think you were insane

  16. For me it sounds right! 44 married 21 years!

I'm not sure why you say its unhealthy. Have you never been in Love, never felt the butterflies flapping in your stomach, can't eat, can't sleep? and the rush when your heart skips........then comes on strong nearly draining your veins then WHOOSH filling them up again in double quick time making you feel all Funny?, Fantastic.
