I am in Dubai, and all the arabic flat breads on sale in the supermarkets list yeast as on of their ingriedients. I am allergic to yeast and I thought that when I move to the UAE I would be able to eat the bread here. I suppose my question really is what bread can I buy here in Dubai that does NOT contain yeast?

  1. Try looking for a local baker (they usually have hole in the wall outlets in residential or semi-residential areas). The locals might know. They usually have a contract with blue-collar workers to cook them breakfast. Shawarma and hummus places may have non-yeast bread as well.

  2. No, it's unleavened bread.   It means it's bread that doesn't rise, so it doesn't need the yeast to rise.

  3. im in United Arab Emirate. i went to Arabic restaurant yesterday n i saw how to make those bread(arabic bread)cuz they made it in the front of guests. they didn't put yeast cuz it doesn't need.
