Why does australia only have 12 medals so far this Olympics? Is Australia really in trouble as a country? ?

There's nothing wrong with being 5th on the medal count table behind countries all with larger populations. We're also ahead of 199 other countries.

I'd like to know why the Masters of the Universe are so far behind China and so close to (comparatively) tiny, insignificant South Korea, Italy and Australia in the medal tally.

Stop bashing the US jeez people it's not our fault everyone migrates here and our population is out of control! It's definitely not our fault we're really good at sports. Oh dear.Don't you think we should have a bit of praise,remember we don't have the population of china or the USA.so we have done very well. Some of our great sports people have retired now and we have still got some wonderful up and coming stars.We are such a lucky country There is plenty of food, jobs and a healthy lifestyle. We aren't complaining here. Keep watching where not finished yet and have done well. Have you ever been here.

The population of Australia is approximately 20 million as opposed to the USA with a population of 301 million. Australia is actually leading the medal tally when it is worked out pro rata. GO AUSSIES!
