  1. He stutters through answers because he has to think about each calculated answer depending on type of an audience he is in front of at that particular moment.  Plus, he is not a good speaker without his pacifier the telepromter.  He has turned into a political robot.

  2. because he is a smart man, he thinks before he speaks.

The same cannot be said about McCain, who goes with his gut.

    Ahhh...partisan hacks are funny.

  3. So Republicans can catch up

  4. Because the people of his party would not understand him if he spoke a full sentence with out hyphenating it for them

  5. cuz maybe he thinkz that that's the way to get elected since ur god bush sayz more uhs and ums than any1 sayz in there whoe entire life.

  6. Hm..

    Should politicians be robots?

    Get real, please.

  7. Because he actually considers questions that are asked of him and thinks of an honest answer instead of just spitting out a prearranged sound bite.

  8. Its always been interesting to me that Sen. Obama's oratory skills have been so spectacular and his on the spot interview and debating skills have been so weak. I used to think that it was just because his oratory is so strong that it makes everything else look pale by comparison. But after watching the Saddleback Forum, I did notice some real weakness. Sen. Obama is clearly intelligent, he seems reflective, he likes to think things over, talk them out, and he pauses a lot which makes for some awkward moments for live TV. But he also isn't focused in these kinds of events. To me, that's what the Saddleback forum exposed to me more than anything. Compare Obama's performance to McCain's. Obama seems to treat it as if he's having a causal conversation with his friend Rev. Warren, he angles himself toward Warren, and thinks about each of his answers out loud. Now watch McCain, he angles his chair and his face more toward the audience, he seems to have an idea what he's going to be asked and gives, short, direct, crowd pleasing answers. He knows that the crowd matters more than Rev. Warren.

If Obama wants to survive these debates he has to go in with prepared answers in mind, he has to be focused, he can't look at it as a conversation with the moderator and his opponent, he needs to look at it like an appeal to the crowd, the voters. I think Obama will maintain some lead from now until the debates begin, I don't see McCain pulling off a spectacular convention and getting a big boost, but given Obama's weak debating skill, it seems a place where McCain, just by getting through without any major gaffes or stumbles, could potentially gain some ground on Obama in the final weeks, and really give him a headache, maybe just enough to pull off a win. Because I'll tell you, that Saddleback performance was painful at times.

  9. He's a moron that only knows how to read a teleprompter.

  10. A lot of people do. It's a sound people make when they pause for thought.

  11. Because he doesn't know what he is talking about.

Uh-Oh, some liberals voted me down! :)

  12. Who? Oh, I see, you spelled it that way cause you think it's clever.
