Question:

Why does being critical of a female politician="sexism"?

Earlier I posted a question asking if Joe Biden would destroy Sarah Palin in the VP debates and whether she would cry as a result of Biden's renowned aggressive tactics. Some users answered the question, others simply accused me of being "sexist" because of the crying comment.

But if you notice I didn't mention gender at all in the post, and for them to connect "crying=women" shows true sexism on THEIR part, not mine. Had McCain's VP been male and I still made the crying comment would sexism allegations be as prevalent? I doubt it.

  1. Why only would you believe Gov. Palin would cry.  Why didn't you ask if Joe Biden would cry.  It's obvious that the crying is tied into her because she's a woman.  Personally it sounds like you have a hard time dealing with an independent intelligent woman.  Whether or not you agree with Gov. Palin politically youy've shown your bias.  Sexism is sexism whether it be against a republican or a democrat.  Hillary Clinton was also the victim of sexism in her campaign by the likes of the MSNBC crowd.  As a man with 3 daughters I resent that.

  2. Your are being politically incorrect.  You know you did it because your a sexist, don't lie.

  3. Apparently it got this deleted:

  4. Being critical of her isn't sexist.  Being critical the way you were was though.  Saying "Little miss innocent 'All American' girl" is pretty sexist.  If you'd left that off, I'd just say it was a stupid post.

  5. "Little miss innocent "All American" girl from rural Alaska against a tough attack dog like Biden"

    Uh-huh.

Criticism of a female politician is perfectly legitimate if it's about her policies or, at times, her public conduct. But why would you wonder if she'd start crying? Because Biden is an aggressive debater? Would you have asked the same question about a male opponent of his?
