Why does being in love hurt so much?

That when he's away you miss him so much it hurts. Especially when you haven't told him your feelings and you're afraid he'll end up with someone else because he never thought of you as an option. Why does it hurt so much? I'm in my mid 20s

What  you're feeling isn't really love, more like a crush or infatuation.  Love hurts worse.  You should definitely tell him, somehow.  I know this is the hard part, but until you "grow some balls" you'll never find the blissful beautiful pain of true love.

Its the law of rhythym. If it feels good then it can feel bad in equal proportion to how good it feels.

real love is  giving and not expecting anything  in return

love is giving your other all the freedom, because you want her/him to be happy, even if it means your being negelted.

Who really knows.  Love is so hard.  If you think you love him don't let him get away.  Sometimes we have to put ourselves out there to achieve total happiness.

I understand. I've been in your position and it just sucks. There really isn't anything you can do but try and forget about him. Get in a good cry and maybe that'll help clear your head and know what to do next. That works for me.

i already know how that is(im in love with my best friend) except she already knows how i feel about her...but when i miss her...i just cant help but cry
