Why does black paint fade faster than white paint?

  1. Because black absorbs light, white reflects it.


  2. Black absorbs energy, therefore more reactive to change.

  3. Color black is black because it does not reflect any or reflect very little light.

    When light hits the black color the energy from light is converted into heat, which would ofcourse cause problem to the color it self or paint in this case.

    While white is white because it reflects all light waves absorbing very little light, thus it doesn't get heated up and thus it last longer.
