  1. The carbon dioxide in your soda comes out of solution into a gas phase.  These CO2 gas bubbles build up in your stomach and you burp.  As the first answer noted, many different gases are found in burps, though when you drink soda the majority of the gas in burps is CO2.


  2. It is not carbon dioxide itself that makes you burp. An excess of gas in the stomach does. That's why you often burp after eating a meal rapidly - you swallow a lot of air. Carbon dioxide is also a gas, but it isn't the only one.

  3. you mean from coke....i think it's because of the gas and the bubbles in the drink....
