Why does child protective services take so long to investigate child abuse?

when the family and abused tell them what has happened even the abuser confessed .

  1. Too much to investigate, not enough investigators to go around. Do you know the amounts of calls they get a day? Yes, it would be nice if all of the kids in trouble could be given help. But there just arent enough agents or foster families to get the job done.


  2. Honestly, it's RIDICULOUS. By the time CPS gets there to investigate the abuse, the bruises have had time to heal and the abusers have had time to force a lie into the child's head. It makes me sick.

  3. In the state of FL CPS is always s******g up! Just last year there was 2 local infant deaths because CPS failed to do a timely and organized investigation!

  4. thye have to consider the child and the effects of taking the child away

    they might have a meeting with other agencies and see what targeted services they can other the family

    however if there is abuse and they are completely sure they will remove the child or children for safety reasons

    but it is the norm now to try and help the family and to keep the family unit together as long as it is safe to do so

    so you might no think they not acting but alot gose on behind the scences
