When I bought my F250 diesel truck about 5 years ago, deiesel fuel was about $1.50 and regular gas was $2.00. Now that has reversed. Diesel is about 75 cents more that regular gas. Does anyone know why it changed.

  1. Supply and demand. Diesel is leading the way in new engines and construction is going crazy all over the world. China is hoarding diesel hand over fist right now in preparation for the Olympics. Its not so bad though because diesel does get better milage then gas.(smells better too!)

  2. ^^ That is quite wrong.

The reason is because diesel has to go through an extra refining process in the US to remove sulfur from it. That's what makes it cost more. In Mexico and Canada it's still cheaper than gas.
