  1. maybe before they did charge vat.. but u paid it as one price?

anyways.. fuel is taxed.. they use that to get to your house..

save yaself some money, WALK there ;-) or make ya own =)

  2. Because, in common with every other hot food take away/ delivery establishment, they are obliged to by law.

  3. is that legal

  4. vat is charged on all hot foods. does not matter whether is takeaway / delivery or eat in. The reason Mcdonlads ask if its take away or eat in is that some items such as Milkshake vat is applicable if eating in but not if taking out

  5. You are charged VAT on luxury items, i.e. ones you don't need, like tampons (I don't need them). I suspect that delivery pizza is a luxury.

  6. VAT is only chargeable if you eat food in the establishment you buy it, its why macdonalds ask you if you are eating in, i dont think that is legal COMPLAIN

  7. Because VAT is charged (not by Dominos but by the Chancellor of the Exchequer) as the pizza is delivered & that counts as a service.

  8. Because of the vat they pay on fuel

  9. delivery is a service, if it is chargeable (either explained to you or not i.e it's ncluded in te price of the food to be delivered) it's a service.

Of course it would be better for customer relationships to just tell you when you order that VAT will be applied.

    Services are liable to VAT.

  10. They've always charged VAT, they just included it in the stated price before.

On the subject, here's a riveting account of their attempt to avoid VAT on dips.

Also pinhead is wring.  Hot takeaway food is always VATable, it is cold food (eg milkshakes) that can vary depending on where it's consumed.

  11. THEY can only charge you VAT on the delivery charge as it is a service. if they offer free delivery, then the driver is trying to rip you off. so complain

  12. Because they are providing a service, in that they deliver it to you instead of you picking it up.

  13. I don't know about VAT.  What I can suggest to you is buy some frozen dough near the deli at the grocery store pick up your favorite toppings and make your own pizza.  It's hot and fresh and less expensive.  I prefer pizza we make ourselves, give it a go!
