Why does each new drug claim to be "different"? ?

  1. To appeal to people who've tried it all, or who are bored.


  2. Same reason that detergents,etc., as advertised as 'new and improved'. Chemists/ researchers are always trying to make subtle changes to improve any product, a drug is just another product.

    "Tylenol is the same as Advil"

    then people won't feel the need to buy Tylenol over Advil.

    However if you say

    "Tylenol is different and better than Advil!"

    then people will want Tylenol instead of Advil.

    And don't forget, "My doctor said Mylanta."
