Why does eating ice seem to not help thirst? (It seems dry)?

  1. ice is expanded. so you are drinking less than you think you are.

    plus it takes energy to melt the ice into water the body can use.


  2. Because ice cream contains very little water.  The only liquid that can 'quench' your thirst is water, which is why many liquids can actually make you ever more thirsty, such as liquor.  Ice cream is made up of mostly fats.

  3. when you're thirsty.. you crave water.. or at the very least a water based beverage (beer, gatorade, juice, etc..)

    the ammount of free water in ice cream is negligable.. it's promarily fat and sugar..

    just because it's a liquid.. doesn't mean it quenches thirst..
