Why does eating out make you feel so nasty?

Right now my family and I are remodeling so we're staying at a hotel. I have not had a homecooked meal in two weeks, I'm a very healthy eater; I eat lots of organic and natrual foods. But during the last week or so I've felt awful because of all these awful foods from eating out. Why does eating out make you feel so badly? I'm bloated, nauseated, and I've been having loose stools. What can I do to feel better? Thanks.

  1. Because everything from a restaurant is deep fried sugar laced preservative full c**p.

  2. Exercise, drink plenty of water & eat fruit.

That always makes me feel better if I have no energy or feel horrible.

  3. Just because you are eating out a lot doesn't mean that you can't make heatlhy choices.  Try to eat salads and grilled meats when you eat out...avoid fast foods at all costs.  Also, fresh fruit will be OK for a number of days if left unrefrigerated, so try to keep some fresh fruits & veggies in your hotel for snacking.  Consider a reasonably priced mini-fridge and electric burner for cooking meals at your hotel.  We recently went through a kitchen remodel and cooked the whole time on a small gas grill, a double electric burner from wal-mart(about 30 bucks), and a toaster oven.  We were able to cook most everything we did before in a complete kitchen!  Best of luck.

  4. ok too much information!!  Well, a lot of food that you eat at restaurants has a great number of trans fats.  The trans fats are needed so the food has a longer shelf life.  If you usually eat organic food you do not eat many trans fats and sometimes none at all.  Your body is not used to eating fatty foods.  My reccommendation stay away from most fast food places and be careful what you choose at restaurants.

  5. Man my mind was in the gutter haha.

But it doesn't really make me feel sick, just have variety one day go to taco bell, burger king the next etc.

    SO I'm Allergic to watermelon.

  6. YOU sound like a very sensible person. You are in the correct section. When you have a chance, read books by the authors Dr. Cassim Ingram and Dr. Mehmet Oz. They have sincerely helped me and others to deviate from the 'artificiality of pharmaceuticals.' Follow your own sensibility and you will have a positive life. Peace!!!

  7. I suggest you leave you home town and move to a place where resteraunts serve helathy options salad bars and baked potatoes, wholemeal wraps, pasta with pesto etc

buy food and disposobale plates and cutlery from the local deli and serve this up in your room with plenty of fresh fruit and raw veg  - you can buy these ready sliced

stay away from fast food outlets - should only visit them rarely anyway

Complain in the local press that there is no local reasonably priced healthy dining outlets

oh ....and where do you live so i can avoid eating out there!

  8. Well when you eat out, the foods have a lot of grease and aren't made out of the healthy ingredients you would normally use at home. Because of this, the food you get at restaurants and hotels generally aren't all the good for you- Perhaps eat more fruit, vegetables (not cooked in oil, etc) and less rich food. (Such as rich creamy pasta, anything dipped or fried in oil, etc) Oh, and if you have been eating a lot of desserts, you should cut down on those as well. You would probably get sicker than someone else normally would, because your body is used to all that healthy organic foods, and not this rich, unhealthy food.
