Why does every body argue about dog foods?

"My god" it is turning into a jerry springer show here about dog foods. My opinion these dogs get sick because of the owners always changing their foods. Do you guys read the ingredients in your kids food "h**l no" you do only after they get sick.I worked at petco and you guys bring back dog food every day the same people. You guys even put down other dog food companys. If you guys dont like their dog food dont feed it to your pets. Some people cant afford those brands and you make them think their dog is going to die today. Just stop worring people,and you guys say their is cat and dog in dog food B.S and you know it. this is the U.S not another country ok and stop with this "GROUND CORN" thing you guys think because you see it in the morning that they cant digest it. dogs ate big fat bones in the wild so corn is going to hurt them its you guy hurting these poor animals.I seen you guys in petco reading in back of the dog food bags for hours of every bag.i also worked in safway but never see you guys read what you and your kids eat. yes we love our pets but they train us as we train them ok. you make them picky, my dog is on the same food for 8 years and he is fine so get some sleep , feed your dog,and take it up with the companys not people who are trying to get advice ok good byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..RUDY.R

WOW, you seem to be the one starting the argument here tonite.  Dogs in the wild didn't live as long as domesticated dogs live so we're doing something right.  This is not a forum to rant.  If you want to rant, go somewhere else.  You are asking why people argue ...well maybe it's cause of ignoramuses like you.  And maybe not everyone is in the U.S.  Did ya ever think of that one???????

thank you, i'm tired of people trying to tell me what to feed my dogs. they get what we can afford, and it's dads healthy homestyle. they love it, so why should i buy an expensive dog food that they won't eat.

nearly every one is on some type of budget right now, so we do the best we can with the money we have, alot of people just don't get it! and it's frustrating.

our mom never read the ingredients on anything unless it was a recipe, and we are all fine.

and by the way, our dogs get twizzlers as treats!

Dogs deserve better than having to eat ground corn, sawdust, and ground up animal bones... they can't make that choice, so we have to do it for them.

And yes, my mom reads all the ingredients on EVERYTHING I eat. We don't ever buy anything that has artificial flavors or ingredients. I am very healthy and skinny but muscular as you would be too if you grew up on chicken, broccoli, and potatoes. I pass it on to my dog.

There is so much in the news about dog food ingredients that one can't help but be concerned about what they are feeding their beloved pets. If you are concentrating on one of life's problems and none of the other problems, it can quickly become an obsession. On this forum, you will find people that are extremely concerned with every little aspect concerning their pet. True some of the advise I have seen is obviously made up, and even could be very harmful to a dog if anyone paid any attention to it. But there are some very knowledgeable people on here that share some very valuable information. I just hope most of the readers are smart enough not to take some of the advise and try it out.

Honey - this isn't the US - this is the Internet.  For one - I'm in Canada, and there are other people from other countries here too.

The reason people argue about dog food is because large companies will use products that can not be used for human consumption. This being said most dogs 20 -50 years ago ate table scraps but then most didn't live as long either. The other part is that when something is not for human consumption and they put it in your dog food and your dog is the one getting sick and costing $3000 and still dying it might have been nice if they admitted they screwed up and pull the garbage off the shelves so more don't get sick and die. Corn has stuff that grows on it and if enough of it is eaten your pet will die. That is a given and you would die from eating those same ingredients that you are unknowingly feeding your pet. Check out the recall lists of pet food and why would a company that knows their product is safe would they recall it? The least they could do is make the issue public before thousands die.

Corn and bones, according to you, are the same thing, then? Ah...

Oh, and I'm not one of the ''you guys'' you are talking about. I do not live in the US, I do not feed my kids whatever and not look at the back of the packet (well, I don't have kids, anyway), I do not come into petco everyday to bring back food (because we have no petco over here, but I wouldn't do that anyway).

Every true dog lover wants the best for their fur-kid. So, what's the harm in making sure we're giving them something better than corn, cardboard and roadkill?

So, what do you feed your dog then?

Pedigree? Beneful? Kibble n bits? Mm...nutricious...
