Why does every country think they're the best?

British, American, Australian, everybody think their nation's forces are the best trained, strongest, cleverest etc. Do we just need to believe we are well protected or are we all blindly patriotic?

Personal pride. Not a thing in the world wrong with it. However, respective traitors should be shot on sight and left in shallow graves where they drop.

Do you want to live in a country where the military thinks they are just 'ok' or 'adequate'?  It gives the country a sense of security to hear from its government, that they are the best.  It may very well be a FALSE sense of security, but people, in general, seem to want to feel good rather than face the truth.

yea it comes form nationalism. naturally everyone is gonna feel that their country is better than others.

Nah, australians can't believe they're the best and the jews proved they are more talk than action, and things in iraq aren't going too well... Guess it's patriotic blindness as you call it.  Wars aren't fought nowadays the same way.

Because they grew up under those laws and that culture, and the way things work in their country is what works best for them.

They like it the best because it represents who they are. It's not arrogance, it's showing support for the way you live your life. It's called Nationalism.
