Why does every girl shop in Abercrombie, Hollister, and American Eagle?

Question

I like Forever 21, Target, Delias, and Mandees so much better they are more mature. What do you think? All the girls in my school shop in Abercrombie and Hollister but i think all the clothes look the same from there.

i dont ive never even been in that store before i love stores like forever 21 hot topic and Charlotte russe they have much more diversity in clothes then those stores .. i also love jcp (most people think its a horrible store but if u actually look in their u'll find cute clothes for great prices) (way better than abercrombie and hollister in my opinion) ( i hate having the same outfit or things as other people) (ive saw at least four people in my school with the same jacket on all from hollister or abercrombie) (so i cant stand looking like other people i rather mix and match and change my style and be more unique then ppl who shop there

It is the "in crowd" thing to do.  But I say wear what you like.  Don't be a follower.  Be an individual.  Good for you for having your own sense of style.

Someone apparently decided that those stores are cooler than the ones you mentioned, haha. They must be very afraid of standing out. Personally, I think Abercrombie, Hollister, and AE are so boring- and their clothes are a bit poorly constructed for the price. Forever 21, Delias, and Target have a much bigger selection and are so much more interesting and stylish than the other stores popular with today's youth.

AE is okay but Abercrombie and Hollister clothes RIPPP and get holes. So they are way to overpriced for the quality...

Yeah Abercrombie and Hollister are owned by the same people so that's why the clothes look so similar. haah

Forever 21 is amazing! And I've gotten some really cute stuff from target (They have the best bikinis! But are really slow on getting new bras =/ they had the same ones I got at the end of sixth grade, and now im in eight! But they just changed like two weeks ago, finally!) but yeah... your clothing is definately better and more unique. lol

They are all made by some no talent designer who thought people might buy trash and just so it happened, the teenage population bought into this load of c**p. Seriously, the clothes they make are horrendous. Wearing them is no fun either. I had to wear an American Eagle t-shirt once and it felt like the people who made this had no idea of what teh human male anatomy was like. I felt as though a snake was choking me around my torso.

Not EVERY girl does, but alot do. Basically when you shop there, your paying for the brand. You could get the exact same shirt from JCPenny for $11.00 without the logo. It doesn't make sense, but it's a teen girl thing.

i have nothing against the stores---they have really cute clothes but a lot them do look the same. some girls go a little overboard with abercrombie and hollister when they should just buy a couple of things and combine them with items from other stores instead of being a walking abercrombie *****.

I'm 12 (and almost a half ^__^) and more than half the girls in my grade shop at Abercrombie, Hollister, etc. but I don't. I shop where you do, also, but I also shop at Urban Outfitters and WetSeal. I think people shop there for the label and for people to know they shop where the "cool" girls shop or something like that rather than the fashion. I shop at places where I like the clothes, not the label of it.

Oh, and I agree with you on the Hollister/Abercrombie look-alike clothes thing. It's technically the same exact thing but the logo is different. Abercrombie & Fitch owns Hollister and the kids' abercrombie.

This is very simple.

A--Those companies market their clothes as young, hip, and--most importantly--s**y. "Wear this, and boys with really amazing abs will want to have s*x with you." This is the oldest trick in the book.

B--The clothes are inexpensive.

C--But while being inexpensive, in comparison to other chain stores like Gap or Old Navy their prices are actually quite high, so they have much more of the all-important snob appeal.

Nevermind that none of this is ACTUALLY true (other than the monetary value part). The clothes aren't s**y, they aren't fashionable, in the grand scheme of clothing they aren't expensive, and they're cheaply made and fall apart practically on contact. Getting people to buy a product is allllll about perception, and when it comes to perception, Abercrombie et. al. have won the match.

aber hollister and american eagle r all the sammmme boring clothes every year ugh lol so boring. ur stores that u shop at are a lot more original and fashionable! a&f isnt fashionable

Those stores (A&F, Hollister, etc.) are mostly for people without a lot of money. They are pretty okay quality clothes (the jeans and sweaters) that don't cost a lot. That's why people shop there.

i think girls shop there because of

a. the clothes have a very beachy, colorful, casual look that looks good and they have variety in style

             vs.

while delias, etc have cute clothes they are more a skater style

and b. also cuz it has a moose on it which, is sad, but true- most people pay for the brand name that everyone around them can see where its from

delias brand name doesnt show nor forever 21
