Why does everybody always tell you to pray about your problems? ?

That is stupid maybe if they analyzed their problems and worked out a solution to them instead of wasting time praying then they could solve their problems! Money problems give to the needy and Karma/God will bring you money? I don't know every time I give its like 5 things break in my house and I need to repair them is that a jinx or what? Be kind to others and others will be kind to you crock of bull! Life is a pathway get things done today so you don't have to worry about them tomorrow!

because God sees and knows things that we cannot see and know. Prayer draws us closer to God and His will for our lives.

If you get sick or injured you see a doc right? Ther'e no better Doc than God.

My response: Well, that explains a lot.

There are entire evangelical shows centered on praying about your problems. Like God will drop the solution in your lap as you sit watching reruns of friends and downing shot after shot of Bacardi Rum.

The Bible itself says that a man who does not work shall not eat. You want your prayers to come true, make them come true. God just gives you the ability, he doesn't do the work for you.

Well sparkles, not everyone is as useless as you are, I'm afraid.

People tell you to pray because, like sparkles here, I guess they assume you're incapable of doing anything without gods' help.

I hate when people tell someone who is really in need to just "pray and wait, god will help you." That's stupid. I agree. They should be trying to make the best of a bad situation, not waiting for imaginary help.

I agree, but I don't get too worked up about it.  If someone wants to pray and thinks that it will help them, that's fine with me.  Whatever floats their boat.

If I have a problem, I try to fix it to the best of my ability
