Why does everyone always say that August is the hottest month?

You must be thinking of the Northern Hemisphere. December & January can be pretty nasty downunder.

In a coastal region where the sea works as a reservoir of heat, the warmest part of the summer will be delayed to perhaps August.

In a continental region, away from the sea, the warmest part of the year will be when the sun is the highest in the sky: at the end of June and beginning of July.

This is, of course, for the northern hemisphere!

Well people say that it's there opinion. There's times where May June July or April is the hottest month and there is a lot of times August is the hottest. Hope I could help

if u look at he monthly averages of a city the hottest month is august. i live in miami,fl and the hottest month in average is august

Because I was born in August. And I am hot. I was actually born June 1st, which is why July is so hot.

idk why. i think it's the most humid, but july is the most dry heat.

I agree. July is the hottest month where I live, but people are always going on and on about how hot August is... they are wrong and we are right!

From PA and have been pregnant threw the summers and August was definitely the worst.
