Why does everyone blame Republicans for there being poor people in this country?

Okay... lets break it down. Democrats support higher taxes on the rich and, thus, higher spending on social programs. Republicans support lower taxes and lower social spending.

The policies a Democrat would enact provide two incentives (actually one incentive and one counter-incentive). They entice the poor to remain poor because the less they earn, the more they get from the government. The counter-incentive goes to the rich to earn less, because the more they earn, the more they have to pay. There is no incentive to work hard, thus making the poor remain poor instead of bettering themselves.

On the other hand, Republicans support fewer taxes, which incents the rich (and corporations) to earn more and to grow the economy, which increases jobs. Then, with fewer dollars spent on social programs, it incents the poor to get a job which allows them to better themeselves.

Seems like the blame is bass ackwards to me...

  1. excessive defense spending has eroded economy and value of the dollar.  2.continuation of irs policies  3. expanding of federal debt.

  2. You are right on both statement, my guess is Democrats can pull the wool over the work poor's better.

  3. Because Democrats are cry babies who want to get everything without having to work for anything.

  4. because they're against universal health care (without it poor people become poorer when they need to go the doctor and hospital).

i think they're against lowering taxes on the poor and raising taxes on the rich (under them the poor become poor and the middle class is divided into a rich one and a poor one)

usually against welfare programs which help poor families or poor immigrants a lot when they are most in need.

don't really have a plan for lowering tuition and helping all students get an education (a lot of smart people get no help at all because they either just miss scholarships or are working part time and not having enough time to study).

  5. Democrats always play themselves to be the friend of the poor because they have most of the media and Hollywood.  On top of all that gas has gone up 75% since the dems took over congress, that hasn't helped anybody including the poor.

  6. The economy is to blame overall, and the economy is where it is at because of republican spending, corruption its favoritism towards Large corporations whom are systematicly RAPING the american public.

    HOW MUCH MONEY IS ENOUGH.

Exxon posted 118 billion in gross profit for the first 1/4 of 2008

they posted 9 billion in net profit.

Even in the midst of soaring gas prices.

So tell me how does that help anyone , in the working class.

Government allowed it to happen, REPUBLICAN government

whom just happens to have a nice stake in the OIL industry

    CHENEY and BUSH.

The whole Democrat and Republican  arguement is c**p.

They are all Mob menatlity whom are out to make their own little profits by lining their pockets with cash form lobbying and manipulation by BIG business.

The idea of more comapanies bigger profits more work for the little guy is c**p initself.

Big companies hire more with less hours and less wages to line their own pockets while squeezing out smaller companies in local areas whom were paying decent wages .

    How about

TAX THE LIVING h**l OUT OF MASSIVE COMPANIES RAPING the american public.

LOWERING the taxes to the guys not making 150,000 a year

The less they earn the more they get form government is flawed as well.

Tell that to a senior trying to survive on 1040 dollars a month

With medications , doctor visits, , rent, elec, gas, phone , water, food , transportaion increases. i dont see any additional help form ANY government , LOCAL, STATE or FEDERAL.

Truth is both democrat and republican ways of thinking and working only work for BIG COMPANIES, and their own corrupt pockets.

You can rationalize all you want , but the truth is you are someone whom has never been poor, or had a family member who is old and struggling to survive. Because if you were or did you would rethink your silly *** statement.

  7. Regardless of who is to blame, the party in power is always held responsible, period.

As for lower taxes creating incentives to grow the economy, that is debatable when applied to the rich.  Enough money is enough money and lower taxes mean you reach it faster and then can spend more time just having fun.  (not that that's a bad thing).  The economy actually grows more through government spending than through tax cuts.  There is no propensity to save on gov't spending, there is on taxes.

Also being a disincentive for the rich is pure bull.  Regardless of tax levels you still make more money the harder you work.  It might not be as much more, but it is still more.

Welfare systems for the poor can be a disincentive to work, but the fact is some people don't have enough to get to a point where they can be a contributing member of society without some help off the start.  There are also people that will take complete advantage of every handout they can get and will never help themselves.  I think any welfare system needs time limits and requirements to be working towards some improvement.

  8. If you remember your history back in President  Abraham Lincoln days. The democratics were the ones you made the people poor and Republicans fought the people. But I believe to had something to do with the great depression and President FDR new deal plan! That's why it might be confusing why Republicans are for the rich and the democratics fight for the poor!
