Why does everyone dislike the Brisbane Broncos?

Question

It has become evident, not just in commentating, but comments on blogs and other sites that the Brisbane Broncos seem to be disliked by a lot of people. Why is that? They arent the Bulldogs, who are the most dispised team of the NRL (I dont know if this is true, I was told that there was poll on this). I think they were disliked because of Mason. I'm just curious, so any answers would be greatly appreciated.

The are a favourite of the nrl hierarchy, like melbourne, and get off with salary cap misdemeanours quite often that are never published.  How much would the game be changed if Brisbane were not in the competition?  the nrl bosses wouldn't know what to do, the brown noses!

One positive, they do have a great coach in Wayne Bennett though.

I dont dislike the Broncos.. i think they are one of the inform teams nd have a lot of talent up there.. they pull huge crowds nd when my team Storm nd Broncos clash.. its always an awesome match... I just dislike a few select supporters who think the Broncos are the ants pants.. and dont think to take a look at anything else.. if its good they lap it up.. if they are being cristised the blame everyone else.. (supporters i mean)

i wish the broncos all the best for the 2008 season nd maybe the Storm will meet them in the GF!!

Lets face it, we're the envy of the league, the best teams will always be the most hated in every sport, in general life really. Let the people hate us, its not gonna stop us from axeing their teams every weekend ;).

Because the Broncos are a kickass team, and with their history of premierships under Wayne Bennett they have been a very strong club.  Unlike other clubs, they haven't been in the limelight for the wrong reasons often, nor have they had problems with financial difficulties and other issues.

Because they nicked our coach in 1988.  Wayne Bennett was signed with Canberra for three years and Brisbane nicked him.  It worked for us, we won three premierships with Tim Sheens.

PS - I don't hate Brisbane, but I know alot that do.  I assume that it's because they are jealous of their success.  I hate St George and all their "we won 11 premierships, living in the past" whingeing.  That and the fact that Mark Gasnier is the game's most over rated player

I live in NSW and i support the Knights. I only hate the Broncos when they beat the Knights like a couple of weeks back, but then i hate every team that Beats the Knights.

On an overall basis i dislike the Bulldogs Manly and Rabbitohs more.

I actually like to watch the Broncos and the other two QLD based teams.

it maybe that what you read on those sites come from NSW and they are all one-eyed supportersand don't give credit to better teams outside their state{not all NSW club supporters by the way} or it just the jealous side of supporters that their club isn't doing so well they have to pick on a better team.

Y woulded ppl b jealous, the Broncos have the best players and supporters and have been the best team in the compition since they came in in 88. And its a QLD team so its obvious they r gona b the most hated team from ppl south of the boarder
