Im a cashier and this is baffling to me. Why is it that when one person is ready to check out a mess of people follow behind that one person? Im just curious as to why its important that when one person is ready to purchase something, everyone else has to come up at the same time making a huge line.

  2. They didn't know where the register was until the first person got in line. Some are leaders others are followers.

  3. I used to be a cashier and the same thing happened to me all the time.  I'd go 30+ minutes without a single customer coming to checkout, then all of a sudden, out of the blue, there'd be like 5 or 6 people all lined up at my register.  It was ridiculous and it would always happen whenever I didn't have anyone who could get on another register and help me.  It always pissed me off too.
