I have had vista on 2 computers and its GREAT. You people shouldnt just believe what people tell you if they tell you its bad. thats like judging someone before you meet them. If you guys gave vista a chance, you would like it. Im soo sick if hearing people say how bad vista is. All of the software I have is compatable with vista, and some of it is like 7 years old. Also, I have no issues whats so ever with vista. I dont have any bugs with it. What do you think about vista?

  1. Don't matter what type of computer / laptop you have, there's always gowning to be something you / people won't like.

For instance: if you get a Vista, you lack on the features of a Mac. If you get a Mac or something else, you lack on the features of a Vista. People are critics, and it's not likely to change.

  2. I've used Vista on modest PC's and laptops.

    I hate it.

The memory usage is ridiculous. 1GB RAM and 1GB swapped, what for?

    Disk actions are slow.

    Aero sucks.

and most of all, It's Microsoft.

  3. because when you buy an upgrated software you think you pay (more usually) for something that is worth it.. but in this case no.. the most of the people getting frustrated bc the compatibility of the most programs . there are games and programs that they can not use them on vista. they getting "blue" screens on the time. their software wont recognize a hardware.. with other words the xp although they are not perfect, they still work better.. microsoft announced that they will hold the production of xp's bc the most people down-grade from vista..  <no comments>

  4. a lot of people are having hardware/software issues...

im glad that you aren't. i wouldn't touch it personally.....

  5. Didn't like it, switched over and purchased a MAC, loaded Windows XP and now have the best of both worlds. I gotta tell you after using PC's for over 20 years, those guys at Apple make the guys at MS look like a total bunch of idiots.

  6. I totally agree with you! Everyone hates vista. But i installed on my laptop thats like 5 years old, and it works great! I love like everything about it.

  7. To be honest, I kind of like vista, because I can play games, which are over 7 years old, that I couldn't play on my windows 98, and the screen on a vista computer is a lot nicer than the older microsoft computers. But most of the time, I'm not completely happy with vista.

Although vista is supposed to be better than windows XP, it can also give you a pain in the neck, a great, big one. I often get frustrated whenever I try to use any program in Microsoft Office, because the window where I'm supposed to type in the product key keeps popping up. Since I can't afford to buy Microsoft Office 2007, I can't save a file, make a new file, or make changes to a file unless I enter the product key. So I either had to use Wordpad or Microsoft Works Word Processor to write an essay. It's similar with the other programs on vista: You either have to buy the product in order to use it, or get the trial version.

Another thing that frustrates the heck out of me is trying to change my desktop background with lousy backgrounds and sample pictures. Unlike other windows programs, you can't change the theme of your desktop to other fun themes. Instead, you could only go from vista to original windows and back. Plus, the backgrounds on vista are lamer than the backgrounds on windows 95, 98, 2000, or XP. The backgrounds on other windows had more variety than the backgrounds on vista. I wish that Microsoft considered upgrading the old backgrounds found in previous windows applications so they could be used in vista. Instead, the idiots at Microsoft replaced the old backgrounds with even more pathetic backgrounds, which are as diverse as a bunch of crows.

Unless someone can help me deal with my problems with Vista, I won't be entirely satisfied with Vista, and odds are, I might throw my laptop out the window, through anger and impatience, and go buy a mac.

  8. my view:

i actually love vista (i use the real, original version with genuine key) with SP1

alot of people complain because its too slow (maybe because they don't have enough ram, 2gb!)

i love it because its really faster at doing tasks and looks nicer than XP

i get the odd blue screen but that'ss no problem.

many others hate the UAC (user account control) because it interferes with their tasks, however it has saved my butt loads of times!! i sometimes download exe files which i dont know where viruses and UAC stepped in for confirmation then KIS scanned it automatically.

overall, im happy with it, its getting more stable

  9. most peoples issues revolve around legacy support

old crappy software or sh*Tty hardware that should have been turfed to the curb years ago they still want to use it , ya sure that 1985 flat bed scanner cost you 6000 but its an old piece of doodoo upgrade it

also vista did have buggy twitchy software not all of it was manufacturers issues but lots were

most have been resolved especially with SPK1

its far better then it was jan 30 2006 when it came out

but far to many people forgot how crappy XP was 7 years ago

and how much they fixed it over the years  REMEBER SASTER BLASTER?? virus ya microsoft dropped the ball having a firewall disabled by default

but give vista its due  XP IS DEAD deal with it!!!!
