Sometimes people are mean to others because they are disappointed in themselves and bitter.

I think the mean and judgmental are very unhappy people. They are carrying around negative thoughts and unhappy memories and they can not get past themselves and their egos.

Why do you think everyone but you is mean and judgmental. Isn't that rather simplistic and judgmental. BTW, just because someone thinks something is wrong or prefers something different does not mean they are judgmental or mean.
